I was born in 1960 and I have been working as an Executive Manager for the Allianz Global Network at Allianz Technology SE, a member of the Allianz Group.
My big hobby is Amateur Radio, I was first licensed in January 1980 as DG9YAG. In 1993 I upgraded to an
HF restricted license (DH4FBC) and a few month later I have got the CEPT class 1 call sign DL3FDU.
When it was possible to get vanity callsigns in Germany, I changed the call to DL3EL (February 2000).
Since 1985 I am active in Packet Radio and in charge of the digipeater DB0AIS.
We are runnig a mailbox and a dx-cluster connected to that digipeater.
From 1988 until 1991 I was active in the "BUS Referat" (the committee in charge of digi modes) within the
DARC (Deutscher Amateur Radio Club). Since 1989 I was Co Head
of the committe. In that role I was a member of the DARC delegation at the 1990
IARU Region I conference in Torremolinos, Spain.
From 1993 until 2001 I was chairman of the local radio club in Frankfurt-West, F-49.
From May 2000 until May 2002 I was member of the advisory council for the DARC subsidiaries.
Since March 2001 I am a member of the advisory council for ADACOM e.V.
From 1997 until 2005 I was Vicepresident of the Hessen Division ("Distrikt Hessen") of DARC. The division has nearly 3500
members in 76 local clubs and is the largest division within the DARC. From 2005 until 2011 I was President of the division.
